Have you ever lost your SHVIGGER?

I just finished my first Practicum in 2024. I wrote and directed this short comedy and filmed it with Cinematography students at the New York Film Academy on glorious 35mm. Thanks for all the good work on this.

“It just seems like a normal day at the airport’s lost & found until a strange client comes in on the search for something very unusual.”

Enjoy!

A FRIENDLY TURN in Wyoming

I am delighted that A FRIENDLY TURN runs at the Wyoming International Film Festival in Cheyenne. On July 11 the film will screen at 5:15 pm in the Program #Connections with other shorts about friends, family, love, & loss.

The Wyoming International Film Festival says about itself, that it isn’t just another film fest, it’s a 5 day celebration of filmmakers and art from around the world! Screenings in a state-of-the-art theater, filmmakers Q&As, live dance, live music, unique western experiences, art and photography exhibitions, and nightly parties give filmmakers ample opportunity to network and exhibit their work – and most important of all – have a blast while visiting Wyoming! WyoIFF is capped off with an award ceremony where we present 20 awards, along with other prizes, to the winners of the festival.

See you on the great plains.

THE STAFF WRITER in Italy

I am very proud that THE STAFF WRITER will premiere in the Ultras Shorts “Gradisca” category of the 16th Amarcort Film Festival in Rimini. The festival is dedicated to Frederico Fellini and runs from November 14 – 19 and screens films at multiple venues across the beautiful ocean town of Rimini. Our screening is on November 16th at 6 pm at the Cineteca Di Rimini.

Here’s to the next festival for A FRIENDLY TURN

Cheers everyone – this venue is a special one. A FRIENDLY TURN is back in Los Angeles and will screen on December 15th at 8 p.m. at the Nihilist Film Festival in Santa Monica at The Highways Performance Space.

“The festival is dedicated to films that other festivals are afraid of from troubling to hilarious, from profound to completely silly. Pretty much, something for everyone (except children and clergy).” And Festival Director Elisha Shapiro commented, “Twenty years of hilariously offensive short films…I really thought we would have caused the rapture by now. Guess there’s no downside to mocking all that’s holy.”

So if you are in LA this holiday season, join us and have a drink – or two – and celebrate some nihilistic films. 🙂

A FRIENDLY TURN in Chicago!

Here comes the next film festival for A FRIENDLY TURN.  I am very excited to screen at the Aladerri International Film Festival in Chicago.

The short film will be screened in BLOCK#1 on Friday, September 22 at 4 pm at Facets Multi-Media, one of the leading national media arts organizations in the US. Join us if you are in the area.

Sometimes we need A STROKE OF GENIUS

Here comes the next practicum I had the pleasure of shooting with Cine students. Third time with amazing Ben Solenerger – check it out!

“Corey is unwinding at the nearby park when he suddenly collapses. Upon regaining consciousness, he encounters the enigmatic JC, engaging in a brief yet potentially life-altering conversation.”

Let’s make some NOISE

Here comes yet another Cine Practicum. I had the opportunity to write and direct this short film during the spring semester and filmed it with a group of skilled Cinematography students at Burbank Studios’ Stage 5.

While at home alone, Wendy engages in a phone conversation with her mother. Suddenly, unexplainable events begin to unfold within her apartment. The question lingers: Could there be another presence with her?

BUDDIES on Vimeo

Check out this scene I shot last semester with CINE students. This fun scene was based on “Dudes” by David Dalton & Chad Schnackel.
Luke wakes up his best friend, Alex, to help him figure out what happened the night before but first, he needs to convince him that it is truly him.
